This 3/8 In. OD, 1/4 In. ID, yellow coated corrosion resistant SafetyShield (TM) stainless steel gas connector is configured with 1/2 In. MIP (tapped 3/8 In. FIP) x 1/2 In. MIP SmartSense (TM) excess flow valve and thermal shut off. The CSA approved gas connector is used on home appliances like gas dryers. SmartSense used with Dormont coated gas connectors gives an industry leading three levels of protection. The 3/8 In. OD flare x 1/2 In. MIP SmartSense EFV and TS is an intricately-designed valve with two primary components, gas flow-limiting plunger and thermal shutoff sensing ring. SmartSense detects and activates in the event of gas line rupture, disconnection or fire. The plunger limits gas flow and the internal thermal ring expands to stop gas flow in temperatures ranging from 350-425 F. SmartSense self resets to standard rate of flow after gas line restoration and pressure equalization.
